Trying a Capsule Wardrobe, Stay at Home Mom Style!

Seven days into the #moms30for30. There has been one PJ day, some mutterings of  ‘why am I doing this with a newborn?’ and lots of awkward selfies in the delete folder.

Then again ‘Awkward Cheese Feign Wearing a Scarf’ pretty well sums me up.

Though I knew this from the last 30for30, I’m reminded with emphasis that it is a weird thing to post pictures of my outfits on the internet. I’m not a fashion blogger. Some days I don’t ‘love’ my outfit or want it out there, but, for me, this isn’t what the process is about.

I could go through the exercise of putting together ‘looks’ but I want it to be practical in my real life. Yes, sometimes when I get home from being out for the day I change into comfy clothes, or layer on a protective coverings from baby puke.

So I’m trying to meet somewhere in the middle. Making the effort to dress in a way that makes me feel empowered and put-together – while incorporating it into the in-and-outs of my lifestyle as a stay at home mom to three kids under four.

Day one – Halloween candy hangover. Some closet cleaning and hanging around the house with the kids and husband.

Day two – Thanks to daylight savings I was up early enough to make it to church with the baby. Fine, I was five minutes late. The rest of the day was spent with the kiddos as the husband took off for the night on a manly trip to hang out with manly men doing manly things. I assume they were lifting lots of metal objects, grunting and swilling beer. They were probably playing basketball though.

Day three – Family road trip to visit some family and go run errands in the ‘city’. I forgot to snap an awkward outfit selfie but caught this one of Lenayah enjoying the view at the Bay.

Day four – I wore my PJs all day. They were clean ones, I’m not a cavewoman after all!

Day five – Home with the kids all day. Had the speech therapist come by for Levi’s speech lesson.

Day six – I got dressed twice today to make up for the PJ day. Went to Strong Start with the kiddos and then to my Mom Bestie’s for dinner with all the kiddos and hubbies. Tom Collins made a guest appearance, that guy is the coolest.
