DECLUTTERING THE ENSUITE BATHROOM
The other weekend, the kids had friends over and I didn’t feel like listening to them talk about video games and the corn song so I meandered into my bedroom and decluttered my bathroom drawers.
I often feel that the ensuite bathroom is the Inner Sanctum. It is where my Inner Feral Raccoon comes to lotion and puff. I might walk out the door looking like a middle-aged mom with poofy hair, but we don’t talk about the mess I left behind.
So, you can judge the state of my ensuite, but know that I am judging myself too.
I sorted my makeup drawer (and humbly admitted that 20 lipsticks is an upper limit for me as a person, but also, not ashamed because your girl wears it almost daily, even if I never leave the house #iliketofeelfancysometimes).
The cupboards underneath needed some tidying. I threw out some old toiletry bags I don’t use, some old dryer attachments, and some garbage. I also grouped like items together (eg putting all the same products in one box rather than three half-full ones). I know this area needs a deeper clean, but that’s not what I was up for today. Still counts! #smallthingsmatter
I also cleaned out this misc drawer where I was storing empty containers (?) and toothpaste lids….and apparently let the whole drawer shift into Chaos Layers that left me constantly digging through it.

I threw out a lot of stuff here and practiced being a bit more fierce with my decluttering here.
HERE IS THE REAL WIN, this drawer took me 11 minutes!!!!!

If you are like me, the ensuite is a place you forget exists during the day – then you head into there at night and remember that it desperately needs some tidying (and really a renovation! but that is at the bottom of the list right now).
But there is something satisfying about taking care of the spaces where you care for yourself in.
