I don’t need a Hot Girl Summer. I need a Marmot Girl Summer

The marmot, nature’s chubby lil sun-basker, knows how to set personal boundaries. They alternate between total relaxation in a sunbeam and pulling a quick exit before the vibe gets too hectic or overstimulating.
I am here for a Marmot Girl Summer.
I am here for lounging in the sunlight for three uninterrupted (guilt-free) hours. Getting vitamin D on my soft lil fuzzy body, like it is my whole profession.
I am here to avoid unnecessary obligations; I will not stress about constant pressure for personal optimization.
I am here to consume berries and little snacks with great sincerity.
I am here for my close friends who I can relax around while we admire the flora and fauna surrounding us.
I am here to breathe deep into my whole belly and not hold it all tense while I worry if strangers approve of its shape.
I am here for unexplained exits, because the vibe got too people-y
I am here to have a cozy lil burrow that I can retreat to when I need to be alone.
Maybe marmots are the most hygge lil mammal out there! Maybe that is why I am loving their vibe.
This is a resistance to Hot Girl Summer, but it is also leaning into letting a person enjoy the sun on their own body, without all the capitalist or patriarchal pressures for it to BE in active productivity or to LOOK a certain way
I made us some shirts and tanks!
